Waterlow Park, North London, February 2018

I went along to a guided walk around Waterlow Park, my local fabulous park in North London, today. There is so much history, I wasn't aware of, and it was so interesting to hear:

The park was donated to the public by Sir Sydney Waterlow, as "a garden for the gardenless" in 1889.
Sir Sydney Waterlow was a wealthy English philanthropist, who loved the area and at one point was even the Mayor of London.
During the first and second world wars the park was used as a "sanitary" for the women, who created kitchen gardens to grow vegetables and fruit trees to feed their families
Furthermore a secret bunker was created for the safety of local residents during the bombings

I would encourage people to go and explore their local area - there is so much history waiting to be learnt.

Afterwards I had a wander around the park with my trusted camera, the weather is so stunning today with clear blue skies. I'm always at my happiest, when I create imagery.

Lumiere Festival, London, January 2018

Urban landscapes are spectacularly transformed with installations by international artists. More than 50 artworks reimagine London’s architecture and streets, transforming the city into a dazzling nocturnal art exhibition in January 2018. It's absolutely amazing and a real celebration of London at this darker time of the year.

Canary Wharf Winter Lights, January 2018

I braved the extremely cold night yesterday and was treated to the stunning creative light features around Canary Wharf.
These Winter Lights are an annual event in the middle of January, which have been done to brighten up this dark time of the year. If you have the time, please do go. It really is amazing !

Two of my images from the Canary Wharf Winter Lights have made it onto the TimeOut feature. Always so nice to see my work out in the public:

Autumn in Regents Park, London, October 2017

Serpentine Pavilion, Hyde Park, london

Inspired by his roots in Burkina Faso, Francis Kéré’s pavilion is a tree-like space in which to enjoy all weathers and ‘meet your dream’. “The tree was always the most important place in my village,” he says, describing the inspiration for his design. “It is where people come together under the shade of its branches to discuss, a place to decide matters, about love, about life. I want the pavilion to serve the same function: a simple open shelter to create a sense of freedom and community.”

The absolutely stunning pavilion can be found in Kensington Gardens, Hyde Park during the Summer of 2017. I went to see it during the opening weekend and was lucky enough to get one of my images featured in Time Out London the following week;

London Photo Festival, May 2017

For the past couple of years I've exhibited at the London Photo Festival, and as this year's theme was Travel Photography, I couldn't resist the temptation of being part of it again. I chose pictures from my trips to Burma and Nepal.

It's always a great networking event, where I meet fellow photographers and get inspiration for future projects.

20th May 2017: An update regarding the London Photo Festival; My picture of the U Bein Bridge in Burma (the image to the left) was sold during the Festival. Makes me a tiny bit proud that other people enjoy my photography :-)

WELCOME - let the journey begin

For a very long time I've had a wish to create a website to showcase my travel photography. So it gives me a great deal of pleasure to finally be able to welcome you here.

I hope you enjoy this journey as much as I know I will. On a regular basis I'll update it with my latest imagery, as well as write on this blog about what's going on with my "photography life".

The Outsider Art Exhibition

Three of the photographs from my recent South American trip were part of the Outsider Art Exhibition organised by the Candid Arts Trust. The private view took place on Thursday 26th January 2017. The exhibition will then open to the public from 27th January - 5th February 2017. It was great to see my work up on the walls of the gallery on the opening night.

THE Adventure Travel Show, January 2017

I always really enjoy the Adventure Travel Show, which is held at Olympia here in London each year. It gives me great inspiration for my next big adventure. This year one of my South American shots was selected to be part of the Stange World Photography exhibition in the category "Best of the Rest".

Watch out world - only a matter of time before I'll explore more of you
